1. Italian economy saw a massive boom during the immediate aftermath of Second World War. The higher growth rates were quickly contributing in changing the socio-cultural scenario of post-war Italy. Cinema often reflects the reality of society. Gregoretti’s PoGoPaG is one such master class that reflects the dimensions of the dystopian reality of the then Italy. The economic boom brought several socio-economic changes in the Italian society and that replaced the old value system. II Pollo Ruspante is one of the four segments of the RoGoPag anthology. This segment of RoGoPag is directed by Ugo Gregoretti. When one thinks about II Pollo Ruspante, One thinks about the ruthless consumerism that the then Italy was grappled with. This segment of RoGoPag vividly describes the details of the widespread consumerism prevalent in the then Italy thanks to the introduction of industrial production and market culture. The heavy impact of economic boom had hit the Italian civic and social life hard and brought unforeseen and drastic changes. Consumerism was one such tendency that Gregorretti made his centre of critique through the story-telling of RoGoPag.
